FAQs

Why isn't [candidate] on the site?

The candidates here are all the major Declared (not exploratory) candidates from the Democratic Party Presidential Primaries 2020 page, who have met the requirements to get to the debates, plus Joe Biden, since he consistently polls as the top Democratic candidate, and a few other candidates who I'd researched and added before setting these requirements, as well as Donald Trump, as he polls overwhelmingly in the Republican primaries. Minor candidates will not be added. If a major candidate is missing, it is likely that they recently declared, and they will be added soon. Save the results page url, and when they are added, you can use it to get the results with them included.

Why isn't [issue] on the site?

Issues should ideally meet the following criteria to be on the site: they should be specific policies that candidates either support or do not, they should not be vague notions such as "centralized government versus state government", because that doesn't indicate in what aspect we're talking about. Additionally, there should be some variation between candidates, it should not be one candidate versus everyone else, as well as variation within parties, it should not be all the Democrats have one position, and all the Republicans have the other. Finally, it should be an issue that many candidates have a clear stance on. If you have an issue that meets these criteria, you can request it to be added

Why does it list [candidate] as having [position]?

Candidates positions were determined by looking at bills they cosponsored, present and past campaign websites, and quotes on various news sites. If I have outdated information, please let me know, including a source.

Why are most of these issues Democrat issues?

Because the Democratic primary is much larger than the Republican one, so most people who aren't sure which candidate to support will mostly be trying to decide between the Democrats. If I'd made this in 2016, it would have likely been skewed the other way.

Isn't this similar to [Website]?

Yeah, probably. I kind of just wanted to make my own, with the option to select multiple acceptable answers.
